Truck driver sniffs out multi-state tire scam that cost Carlisle company $10K

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A tire scam spanning two states and costing a Carlisle company more than $10,000 has been halted by a local man who says he was transporting the tires from Pennsylvania to Maryland.

Torri Kugle says he was hired as a middleman to deliver the tires from McCarthy Tire Service in Cumberland County to a buyer in Maryland.

“I drove down there thinking I was going to a trucking company or a mechanic shop or something,” said Kugle. “It was a strip mall.”…
