BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland residents are among the least likely in the nation to engage in excessive drinking, according to a new analysis of health data. The study, conducted by Wellbrook Recovery, found that Maryland has one of the lowest rates of adult binge or heavy drinking in the U.S., with just 14.7% of its population reporting the behavior.
The analysis reviewed data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Mental Health America (MHA) to rank states based on excessive drinking habits and reported substance use disorders.
