Delmarva Thanksgiving Weekend Weather Alert: Wind, Cold Rain, and Frost in Delaware–Maryland–Virginia

Dover, DE – A blustery and colder Thanksgiving weekend is ahead for the Delmarva Peninsula as a strong coastal storm tracks offshore, bringing periods of cold rain, gusty winds, and a possible frost or light freeze by early next week. The shift will make for unsettled conditions across Delaware, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and coastal Virginia through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service offices in Mount Holly, NJ, and Wakefield, VA, a developing low along the mid-Atlantic coast will draw chilly Atlantic moisture inland Friday night into Saturday. Widespread rain and wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected along the coast, with localized flooding possible in low-lying areas and poor drainage zones.
