On October 28, 2025, a family took their 8-month-old daughter to Inova Children’s ER in Fairfax due to a limp arm. The doctors, Dr. Megan Aidoo and Dr. Ji N Gusto, ordered X-rays and misinterpreted a normal blood vessel as a fracture in the child’s humerus. This led to the family being reported to Child Protective Services and the police. The hospital staff insisted on a skeletal scan, which involved physically restraining the child for over 30 minutes while numerous full-body X-rays were taken.
