MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – The head of a school district in Maryland is apologizing to families after a decision to delay the opening of schools just hours before the day was set to start.
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) made the call on Tuesday because of the wintry weather. Families received the notification that all schools and offices would open two hours late at 5 a.m.
“I don’t think it should have been closed or delayed at all,” MCPS parent Scott D’Vileskis said. “I think it was fine.”
