MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — One Germantown, Md., family has gotten coal in their stockings in the form of hundreds of dollars in fines because of Christmas decorations their homeowners association (HOA) says violates nuisance rules.
Pahan Salgado and his family have lights, Nutcracker statues, and a Nativity scene at their home, and told 7News this annual tradition holds a place near and dear to their hearts.
“It’s just a wonderful time of year for everyone. It’s reflecting back on our faith and our values – our Christian values, we believe in Christ. That’s why we decorate our house and do our lights,” Salgado said. “With our grandma, after she passed away, we placed two angels in front of our house.”…
