School Closing/Delay Prediction For Monday, December 15th

Montgomery County Public Schools said Saturday that it will share an update by 5pm Sunday regarding any potential impact on school for Monday, December 15, as winter weather conditions varied widely across the county.

What fell overnight looked very different depending on location. According to the National Weather Service, Damascus was on the high end, picking up as much as five inches of snow. Parts of Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and Germantown generally saw between 1.5 and three inches, while other areas such as Aspen Hill and Potomac received less than an inch.

As of Sunday, main roads across much of the county are in good shape. However, some side streets, particularly in areas that saw heavier snowfall, remain slick and uneven. The bigger concern now may not be what is still on the ground, but what happens next…
