LANHAM, MD—A Maryland woman, who bought a single Powerball ticket to ensure she didn’t miss out on a shot at a $900 million jackpot, ended up winning a massive $1 million prize in the drawing held on December 10. The sudden shock of the win left her so shaken the following morning that her husband had to drive her to work.
The winner, who claimed her prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters on December 12 with her husband by her side, chose to go by the nickname “Nina Anonymous” to protect her privacy.
“He had to drive me to work because I was shaking so bad,” Nina Anonymous recalled of her reaction upon realizing she was a millionaire.
