CBP seizes almost $190K in unreported currency at Dulles

DULLES, Va. (DC News Now) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Washington Dulles International Airport seized almost $190,000 in unreported currency from eight groups of travelers.

CBP said that these seizures happened between Oct. 27 and Wednesday.

The biggest seizure happened on Oct. 27, when a pair of travelers headed to Ghana reported both verbally and in writing that they had just over $9,000. CBP officers found four envelopes while inspecting a carry-on bag that contained $40,000 total in unreported money.
