Fairfax County released illegal immigrant; a day later, it charged him with a new murder

A Salvadoran immigrant man who was out on the streets after Fairfax County authorities refused to turn him over to ICE now stands accused of killing another man.

Marvin Morales-Ortez, who has been linked to the MS-13 gang, had been in the county jail until Tuesday, when charges were dropped and he was released — despite a deportation detainer request from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that he be turned over to them.
