Members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force conducted enforcement operations from December 17 to 20, making 239 traffic stops and issuing hundreds of citations, warnings, and repair orders. During that period, task force officers arrested 22 people for DUI, made one additional criminal arrest, and conducted breath tests and DRE evaluations, with officials noting that the total number of DUI arrests countywide is higher when patrol officer arrests are included.
Per the news release distributed on Tuesday, December 23: “Members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force will be devoting their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season. During the week of December 17-20, officers made 239 traffic stops and issued 254 traffic citations, 284 warnings and 21 repair orders. They also issued three alcohol restriction violations and completed 3 DRE evaluations.
