Trio arrested for copper wire theft ring costing $3M in losses: Loudoun County deputies

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Three people have been arrested for their connection to a copper wire theft ring.

The trio is responsible for $3 million in losses around the region, primarily in the county, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

On Dec. 18, LCSO deputies, along with other law enforcement agencies, arrested for 43-year-old Alexandru Constantin, 38-year-old Cristinel Petrovici and 29-year-old Robert Ciucur in College Park, Md.

These arrests are the result of an 8-month-long investigation into many reports of copper wire thefts being made from different utility facilities around the county and other nearby areas…
