Road Rage Shooting Case Ends in Plea Deal

A two-day jury trial set to begin Tuesday in the case of a man charged in a December 2024 Road rage incident has been canceled after a plea deal was reached between the suspect and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Aldo Betancourth Rivera, 35, was charged with malicious shooting.

On Dec. 3, deputies were called to the area of East Maple Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue in Sterling for reports of shots being fired. According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects discharged a firearm at vehicle occupied by a driver and a passenger. No injuries were reported…
