Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Saturday afternoon to a reported house fire in the 15400 block of Avery Road in Derwood.
According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, crews were dispatched around 4:01 pm and found a propane heater connected to a 20-pound propane tank on fire following an explosion. The fire did not extend to the home, no injuries were reported, and crews began downsizing their presence at the scene after the situation was brought under control. At this time, the cause of the incident has not yet been determined.
