Some Maryland parents upset over weeklong snow-related school closures

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Some parents in Maryland are concerned about the school system’s decision to keep students out of school for more than a week.

They told 7News that they don’t understand why other local school systems were able to send students back to school while Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) students were kept at home.

MCPS admits snow and ice removal have been slow and that “many streets and sidewalks are not passable for buses or safe for student walkers.”…
