One Injured After Early Morning Crash and Vehicle Fire

We recently received additional information regarding a single-vehicle crash shut down a stretch of River Road in Potomac early Monday morning (yesterday) after a car struck a tree and caught fire.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the collision occurred at 7:34am near Stoney Creek Road. The vehicle left the roadway, hit a tree, and became fully involved in fire. Fire crews arrived to find the car burning and quickly extinguished the flames.
