OCEAN CITY, Md. (7News) — Ocean City is under a Blizzard Warning for the first time in four years. The warning runs through 7 p.m. Monday, as the region braces for heavy snow, strong winds, and potential power outages.

Meteorologists are calling this a “bomb cyclone,” a storm that intensifies rapidly — a process known as bombogenesis — when central pressure drops quickly in a short time. Along with strong nor’easter winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour, the blizzard is expected to drop 8 to 14 inches of snow.
