Police welfare check finds 80-year-old man who had fallen days earlier

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Here’s a reminder to check on your older neighbors and loved ones. Montgomery County Police shared information about a welfare check that turned into a rescue.

According to a post on the police department’s social media pages, officers were called to a home for a welfare check at a home in the Sixth District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village on Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they knocked on the door and did not get a response. The officers conducted a search around the outside of the home and heard a tapping sound and a faint call for help…
