Virginia road rage stabbing leaves woman and dog dead, three people wounded

Virginia State Police shot and killed a knife-wielding man after he fatally stabbed a woman and a dog and wounded three other people in a road rage incident on the Capital Beltway, authorities said Monday.

The confrontation unfolded about 1:20 p.m. Sunday near Exit 52 on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County when a trooper arrived and “was confronted by a male suspect carrying a knife,” state police said in a statement.
