Woman Wanted in Gaithersburg Shooting Investigation Arrested in West Virginia

A Maryland woman wanted on a felony warrant was arrested March 6 at a residence on Gray Silver Road in Inwood, West Virginia following a coordinated law enforcement operation.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Criminal Investigation Division assisted detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department in obtaining and executing a search warrant for the home of Mya Nailah McClellan, 22. Authorities said the warrant stemmed from an incident in Baltimore County in which McClellan allegedly threatened to use a firearm during a dispute at a beauty salon. Investigators said she retrieved a firearm from her vehicle and attempted to return to the business, but employees had already secured the entrance and prevented her from re-entering.

McClellan is also considered a suspect in a separate shooting investigation in Gaithersburg involving gunfire directed at an unoccupied residence belonging to her significant other’s parents. Members of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, patrol deputies, investigators, and detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department and Gaithersburg Police Department executed the search warrant and took McClellan into custody without incident.
