Maryland State Police trooper’s cruiser struck in hit-and-run crash

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, Md. — Police are investigating after a hit-and-run crash involving a Maryland State Police trooper late Sunday night. Investigators are still looking for the driver who rear-ended an MSP cruiser and left the scene.

Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, posted photos of the crash scene on social media just before 11 p.m. According to Piringer, the crash happened on southbound Interstate 270 between Montgomery Village Avenue and Interstate 370. Troopers were on scene responding to a separate crash.

The trooper was in his vehicle at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported…
