With only a handful of days left in the Maryland General Assembly, one bill related to hygiene products in state buildings’ bathrooms is cramping some delegates’ style.
House Bill 941, introduced by Del. Terri L. Hill (D-Howard), would require hygiene products to be offered in all bathrooms in all state-owned buildings. These items include hand soap, toilet paper, towels, water, waste containers and menstrual products.
While some state buildings may already offer free menstrual products via dispensers, the bill would guarantee that these machines are continuously stocked to meet the public health needs of women and girls, Hill said in an interview with Southern Maryland News…
