2 men face decades behind bars after murder-for-hire shooting in Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Two men could spend decades behind bars after they were found guilty in the Prince William County shooting death of a woman, which investigators believe was orchestrated by her husband.

Grorethas McKinnon, Jr., 29, was found guilty on March 26 for the 2024 murder of Egypt Carter, according to a news release. Drew Buchanan, 29, previously pleaded guilty to his role in the crime in March 2025.

McKinnon faces up to 40 years in prison and is set to be sentenced on July 2. Buchanan faces a maximum of life in prison and is set to be sentenced on June 12…
