MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three people were rescued early Saturday morning after their boat ran into a tree on the Potomac River in Maryland, leaving them stranded in the water.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) officials said the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near Ten Foot Island, in the area of Riley’s Lock, prompting a multi-agency water rescue response.
According to fire officials, a Jon boat struck a tree, throwing three people into the river, where they were found clinging to a tree, with at least one person reported injured.
