Man Found Guilty of Double Murder, Faces Up to 150 Years

A Montgomery County jury found Kaloyan Stoev guilty of two counts of second-degree murder and multiple firearm-related charges in connection with the January 2025 shooting deaths of 26-year-old Marcell Hebron and 27-year-old Leilani Marroquin.

The verdict was returned on April 23, 2026, following a four-day trial in Montgomery County Circuit Court. Stoev faces a maximum sentence of 150 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for September 28, 2026.

According to investigators, the victims were shot in and around a vehicle in Rockville during the early morning hours. Police said Stoev had been seated in the back seat of a BMW before opening fire on Hebron, who was driving, and Marroquin, who was in the front passenger seat.
