One person dead after being struck by vehicle on I-495 in Maryland

MARYLAND — A highway worker was killed Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while responding to a crash on Interstate 495 in Prince George’s County, according to police.

Maryland State Police said the incident happened on the inner loop of I-495 near Exit 4 in the Forestville area shortly before noon.

Investigators said two vehicles had collided on the interstate, prompting lane closures as crews worked to clear the scene.
