Vehicle snaps pole in half following collision in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A crash in Montgomery County is causing delays and power outages on Friday morning, according to Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.

Just before 5 a.m., a vehicle struck a telephone pole in the 2600 block of Briggs Chaney on May 8. An adult was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

The utility pole snapped in half, causing wires to be downed. The collision resulted in several road closures, including Briggs Chaney Road between Old Briggs Chaney Road and Cedarbrook Drive.
