ASHBURN, Va. (DC News Now) — Americans are spending more than ever on their pets, and veterinarians say emergency care costs are one reason more owners are considering pet insurance.
Dr. David Iskandar of Nova Animal Hospital said unexpected accidents can quickly turn into thousands of dollars in medical bills.
“If a dog was interested in a pair of socks, sometimes it’s lodged in the intestine, and you have to do a surgery and take it out,” Iskandar said. “Other than that, the dog will not make it.”…
