Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Monday evening to a single-vehicle collision on the inner loop of I-495 at the Exit 41 ramp to Clara Barton Parkway.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, the collision involved entrapment and a vehicle fire, with several passing motorists stopping to help pull the driver from the burning vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames.
MCFRS crews, along with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel, responded to the scene around 7:30 pm. One adult trauma patient was transported to an area hospital in Priority 2 condition.
