Large areas of Maryland enter drought warning due to persistent lack of rainfall

The majority of Maryland is either under a drought warning or watch as dry weather and lower-than-average rainfall amounts persist throughout the region.

Maryland is entering its fourth year of a drought cycle, and for the past nine months, average monthly rainfall has consistently been one inch short of the state’s usual four-inch standard.
