North Carolina man accused of walking around naked, attempting to break into homes

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Police Department reported that a man was arrested on Monday after several months of receiving multiple reports of a naked man attempting to break into homes.

Around 12:09 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to the 100 block of Deer Lake Drive in south Asheville to investigate a report of indecent exposure. Upon arrival, officers located a man, later identified as 68-year-old Raymond Steven Young, walking in the area naked. Young was taken into custody without incident. Further investigation identified Young as the person responsible for similar past incidents in the area.

Detectives said they are continuing to investigate, with additional charges expected.

Police said that Young was charged with the following:

  • (2 counts) (F) Attempted First Degree Burglary
  • (M) Secret Peeping
  • (M) Indecent Exposure
  • (M) Second Degree Trespassing
