Man charged after 26 dogs found in inhumane conditions, sheriff’s office says

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A man is facing animal cruelty charges after 26 dogs were found in “inhumane conditions,” the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook.

On Monday, July 20, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Animal Enforcement responded to a welfare check for animals in the Dana area.

During the investigation, Timothy Hefner, 68, was identified as the person responsible for the 26 dogs and was charged with 26 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty “due to the dogs being kept in inhumane conditions,” the sheriff’s office said…
