BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (WLOS) — Oak & Grist Distilling Company has been given 90 days to bring its building into compliance after the Town of Black Mountain said an inspection found more than 4,000 gallons of distilled spirits stored alongside fire-alarm, sprinkler and other safety deficiencies.
The town says the conditions pose an immediate risk. Owner William Goldberg says he is working with architects and engineers to comply but questions why the barrel storage was not flagged during nearly a decade of annual inspections.
