Local mental health nonprofit to host free Helene reflection meetings at ‘ground-zero’ areas

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The “Reflect & Reconnect” sessions were organized by Resources For Resilience, an Asheville-based nonprofit dedicated to teaching Western North Carolina residents how to navigate trauma, stress and burnout.

The free meetings have been scheduled for 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at the Swannanoa Public Library in Swannanoa, N.C., and 8:30-10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Wrong Way Campground in Asheville, N.C.

The meetings are based around processing hard emotions after Tropical Storm Helene, which caused catastrophic damage in Western North Carolina in September 2024…
