HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Since the beginning of its history, the city of Hendersonville has been a tourist attraction. Surprisingly, though, getting to the area was a challenge for visitors traveling before the railroad.
That all changed with the extension of rail lines to this area of Western North Carolina. The leaders who pushed for the local rail connection made a tremendous impact on the city in ways we still see today.
