HENDERSONVILLE – A former district attorney, removed from office in 2021, is now staff attorney at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Greg Newman, previously top prosecutor for Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties, was disciplined by the state bar and ultimately removed for “chronic and unrepentant misconduct,” including making false statements to a judge and mishandling multiple cases including murder and child rape.
