Haywood County steps in to fill $2M gap in water interconnect project

CLYDE, N.C. (WLOS) — Helene showed how critical it is to have a reliable water supply during a disaster. A new project in Haywood County aims to help provide a more reliable system county-wide.

“The interconnect goes both ways; [it] connects two separate water treatment plants into a county-wide emergency interconnect system,” said Robert Hites, Haywood County water interconnect project coordinator.
