ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An Asheville man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he sold drugs and firearms to an undercover agent while he was on probation.
According to an Oct. 7 news release from Russ Ferguson, the United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, Nazae Dion Maewether, 24, of Asheville, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release for distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl and illegally possessing a firearm in Asheville.
According to court documents, while Maewether was on probation for 2024 state convictions of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine, common law robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, law enforcement initiated an investigation into Maewether for distributing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and firearms…
