The Asheville Citizen Times has publicly apologized for a full-page advertisement that appeared in its Sunday print edition that disparaged Israel and the Jewish faith. The ad contained numerous Bible verses, as well as commentary condemning Judaism, and ran on an inside page under a “Paid advertisement” heading, with the headline, “God’s Chosen People.” The subsequent apology appeared Wednesday on page 3A in the front section under the headline, “Note to our readers.” It read:
