WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A horse in dire straits is now safely in the care of a Haywood County animal rescue. Dream Haven Animal Rescue near Waynesville said King Willy was discovered emaciated near Marion. The owner surrendered him, and he’s been in Dream Haven’s care for two weeks. He had been living alone and scavenging for food, chipping teeth away chewing on wood. Dream Haven’s owner said he now requires slow nourishment with a special diet of food that needs to be soaked.
