Asheville City is encouraging locals to join the Neighborhood Matching Grant Workshop. This workshop is part of the city’s grant program, now open for 2024 applications. Neighborhood groups can apply for up to $5,000 in matching funds through this program.
The workshop will take place on Monday, February 19, from 4-6 p.m. at the Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Center. The event is open to all and will offer refreshments. Participants can learn about the grant program and application process.
Attendees can gain insights from previous grant recipients and engage with the staff review committee at the workshop. They can also find out about the support available from the Sustainability Advisory Committee and RiverLink.
The City Council launched the Neighborhood Matching Grant program in 2021. The program aims to foster community ties, promote volunteer work, and support community-led initiatives. To date, the program has funded 33 projects with $159,110 from the City and around 2,500 volunteer hours.
