ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A redevelopment project on an Asheville landmark along Tunnel Road has been delayed. It was big news when Asheville’s iconic Mountaineer Inn sold for more than $6 million in May 2023. The local landmark had operated since 1939 when Tunnel Road was a main drag for hotels in the area.
