Three teens arrested in Buncombe County shooting

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting which sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, at around noon last Friday deputies were called to Lifting Fog Drive in Leicester for a report of a breaking and entering by three people wearing masks.

On the scene deputies reportedly found one person with a gunshot wound.

On Thursday, the sheriff’s department said it has arrested three teenagers – Noah Berry McDade, 19, and Jayden Saleem Smith, 19, as well as an unnamed 16-year-old – in connection with the incident.

McDade and Smith have been charged breaking and entering, conspiracy and attempted robbery.

The 16-year-old is in custody and will be charged on a juvenile petition related to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing and more arrests and charges are forthcoming.
