Three teens arrested in western North Carolina shooting

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, at around noon last Friday deputies were called to Lifting Fog Drive in Leicester for a report of a breaking and entering by three people wearing masks.

On the scene deputies reportedly found one person with a gunshot wound.

On Thursday, the sheriff’s department said it has arrested three teenagers – Noah Berry McDade, 19, and Jayden Saleem Smith, 19, as well as an unnamed 16-year-old – in connection with the incident.

McDade and Smith have been charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy and attempted robbery.

The 16-year-old is in custody and will be charged on a juvenile petition related to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing and more arrests and charges are forthcoming.

Previously, Jonathan Tanner Boyd, age 20, who lives on Lifting Fog Drive was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
