Re-Bath employees taking donations to North Carolina amid hurricane

BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The need is great with two major storms hitting just a couple of weeks apart. Residents in North Carolina are struggling to recover and a Bay County business is working to make a difference.

Re-Bath employees are loading up trucks to take donations from Bay County residents to Waynesville, North Carolina to the Woodland Baptist Church.

Mark Defour and his wife saw what was happening in Asheville and wanted to do something to help. They put together a flier and donations began pouring in.

Within four days, they had thousands of items.

The Re-Bath team left this morning at six and will start unloading the items on Thursday. The whole company has been involved with the project.

The Re-Bath team says they couldn’t have done this without donations from the local community.

“We’ve done this one other time. It was nothing like this. This community, this community gets it, you get it. This community gets it. The outpouring has been unbelievable. And it’s you know, it’s I regained a lot of faith in humanity looking at this,” Re-Bath owner Mark Defour said.
