ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – Red wolves once roamed Western North Carolina and the eastern seaboard. Now there’s just one area in North Carolina where they exist in the wild. While a predator, wolves play a unique role in the ecosystem. This Carolina Moment was captured before Helene hit in Western North Carolina. While the WNC Nature Center is now temporarily closed, they plan to celebrate the wolves and other spooky creatures at their office nearby. It is an event that promises to have people howling while learning about nocturnal animal games.
