MARSHALL – In the Madison County Board of Commissioners Nov. 11 meeting, County Manager Rod Honeycutt shared the latest updates on FEMA assistance throughout the county following Tropical Storm Helene.
Here is a rundown of some of the statistics on FEMA assistance to Madison County families and individuals:
3,860: The number of individual applications among Madison County residents/families that have applied for FEMA assistance through the Serious Needs Assistance, a one-time payment of $750 per household. The award amount is adjusted annually.
2,150: The number of FEMA applications among Madison County residents for additional assistance on top of the $750 disbursement, including FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program, a program that provides financial assistance and services to people and households affected by disasters. IHP can help with temporary housing, home repairs and other disaster-related expenses.
$3.3 million: Total appropriations from FEMA to Madison County residents, as of Nov. 12.
