Two schools in WNC placed on lockdown during Friday incident

Two schools in Western North Carolina were put on lockdown, Friday morning. Deputies in Rutherford County responded to the area of two schools and took the suspect into a custody without incident.

The Sheriff’s Office says Chase Middle and High Schools in Forest City were placed on lockdown for a period of time, while the arrest was made.

The lockdown was lifted after the suspect was arrested without further incident. The Sheriff’s Office has not released the suspect’s identity or charges.
