Local leaders urge Congress to pass disaster relief bill for North Carolina aid

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer, Canton Mayor Zeb Smathers and other elected leaders spoke out Thursday as a stalled $100 billion disaster relief bill that would help Helene victims and decimated areas was left “hanging in the air” as Congressional leaders decided if a spending package would get revived.
