Marion man charged with felony methamphetamine possession

MARION, N.C. (WLOS) — A Marion man has been arrested and charged with multiple drug charges following results sent back from the state crime lab, according to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.

Paul Leon Clark Jr., 36, was first pulled over by deputies on Oct. 17 for an expired license tag. According to a news release, a subsequent search of Clark and the vehicle turned up suspected amounts of methamphetamine, multiple gallon-size bags with a white residue and drug paraphernalia.

Detective David Jones with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Clark with the following:

  • Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
  • Felony possession of methamphetamine
  • Felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substance
